As we approach the holiday season, we have a great deal for which to be thankful. I speak for the wolves here as well, since none of them are very good at typing, in saying that our greatest blessing is you. We have weathered a year of this economic downturn together, knowing that everyone is feeling its sting. Through all of this hardship, your compassion for the wolves at the Sanctuary has continued. From all of us, we wish to personally say “thank you” with a deep feeling of gratitude for keeping the wolves in your thoughts.
We know of 4 animal sanctuaries in the United States who have had to close their doors this year. Although we were not able to accept any of those animals, due to our imposed limitations, we did help with the efforts to find those individuals new homes. The way each of us views our finances has changed, and in turn the way people give has changed as well. Wolf is honored to still be around.
Thankfulness also comes from the family at the Sanctuary becoming whole once again. Through two very painful losses, we have been able to bring Sky and Lakota home once again. It is a bittersweet happiness, but having a sense of finality with everyone finally being here at the Sanctuary has been a blessing.
Thank you to each and every one of you who donated for Shaman’s surgery. With his unexpected loss, those donations have been shifted to our previously depleted emergency medical fund. The Sanctuary now sits with a guardedly reasonable resource for emergency medical care for the wolves.
As we enter this holiday season we are optimistic. This is the giving season, it is when a majority of folks engage in their charitable donations for the year. A large portion of Wolf’s operating budget comes in over this short time period, these are donations that take care of the animals all year long. Please remember the Sanctuary this year. Please consider a gift membership for a friend or loved one. Tell someone about your personal support for Wolf and what we do. Show them our web site or have us send them information.
Gratefully Yours,
Frank Wendland
